Pasco County, Florida and New Port Richey, recently adopted a new ordinance regarding Dangerous Use of Public Right-of-Way Law in order to make Pasco County and New Port Richey Florida roads safer for all automobile drivers. The Pasco Board of County Commissioners wants to provide safer roads for drivers of automobiles and pedestrians. The new ordinance the Board passed makes it illegal for pedestrians to stand in medians and for drivers to interact with pedestrians. This regulation will:

- Prohibit people from stopping/standing in a median when they are not crossing the road
- Prohibit drivers from interacting with pedestrians when they are not parked
- Prohibit the use of any public rights of way for commercial activity
- Proved for enforcement and penalties for any offense
- Eliminate concerns of regulating First Amendment expression
- Allow for protected expression from sidewalks or private property along roads
This new law applies to all major roads in Pasco County.
